Namobuddha Biking Tour - 5 days

Namobuddha biking tour is one of the best short rides in the valley. It’s a combination of on and off road riding with some challenging downhill sections. We go cross country along the lovely river valley exploring ancient temples and beautiful farming hamlets. The highlight of this ride is an overnight stay at Namobuddha, one of the most popular monasteries in Nepal. Near the end of the trip we will cross a small pass about 1800m above the valley from where you will get the most commanding views. This ride is for the medium to advanced rider.

Namobuddha Biking Tour - Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu airport, transfer to hotel. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 02:
Our trip begins with a ride through the early morning streets of Kathmandu. On the way you will stop in and visit Paspatinath temple, the holy home of Lord Shiva. We then trace round the airport and head through the vegetable growing region of Sanu Thimi before rejoining the friendship highway and climbing up to the pass at Sanga. This is the gateway to Karve district. Once at the top you can get commanding views of Bhaktpur and the valley. From here it’s about 11km of downhill road before we again climb to Dhulikel. We can stop here for lunch. After lunch we leave the main road and head up to Namobuddha. It’s an easy off road climb with great views of the valley below; 11km of dirt road brings us to the monastery. We will stay in a guest house over night enjoying the peace and quiet.

Day 03:
Wake up early in the morning for sunrise viewing, we will take breakfast and explore the area on foot. We have a nice section of single track down hill to begin the day. Then we have about 20km of gentle country roads before we reach to the lovely riverside town of Panuati. We will take lunch here and explore the ancient temple complex. Our afternoon will take us on a gradual 11km climb to Lacuri banyan from where we can get stunning views of the Himalaya and the valley. Now it’s about 20km of downhill back into the valley via the ancient town square of Patan.

Day 04:
Drive to airport and fly back home.
